1. For starters, do not wish your situation were easier if you are not playing. Sports are supposed to be competitive. This is not supposed to be easy or everyone would be involved.
2. Instead, wish you were better. Do more than expected and be excellent at what you are doing today. If you keep getting a little better each day, you will be a lot better in the end.
3. Identify what you are in control of. You do not write the line up or decide who plays. Be the best teammate you can while also improving yourself. This is in the best interest of the team.
4. The coach has nothing against you. He is looking out for the group. The sooner you get this thought out of your head, the sooner you will begin to focus on things that make a difference. If you want to make a difference, you need to grow and be a lifelong learner.
